High SchoolComputer Lab
There are two computer labs in the school: Room 111 and Room 204. If you need to do homework or research during your free/lunch period or to print something, you can use the computers or printers there. Use the computers only to do school work, not to play games. Room 204 is open from 7:15am till 3:15pm. Printing You can print from any school computer to the shared printers in the library. While you are logged on to the computer and the document you want to print is open, from the File menu you must choose ""Print Release B&W" if you want to print in black and white, or "Print Release Color" to print in color and then click "Print." Then, go to the library and log in to either the B&W printer or the Color printer. Click on the jobs you want to print and collect your documents. Make sure to log out of the printer when you are finished printing. Computer ID, Password & E-mail Any student of the school can use the school computers in the computer lab, but you need an official school ID and password to log on. When you start school, you will get an ID and password to log on to your account. You will use the same ID and password to log on to your school e-mail. Your e-mail address will be your user name @bmchsd.org. You can access your school e-mail at home by visiting the District homepage and by clicking on the “student e-mail” link. You should not use a personal e-mail like Yahoo or Hotmail for your school work. Use your school designated e-mail only. If you forget your ID or password, visit Room 204 and ask the staff at the middle desk to help you. Cell Phones, iPads & Electronic Translators During class, you may ask your teacher to allow you to use your cell phone, iPad or other personal device to translate words you do not know. You may NOT use these devices to translate during an exam, but you may borrow a bilingual dictionary or electronic translator from your ENL teacher to use for an exam. If you would like to purchase your own electronic translator, the best ones to buy are available on the Internet. We recommend Franklin for European languages and Trano for Asian languages. |
